Accepted file formats

Obsidian supports the following file types:

You can extend Obsidian to support other file formats using Community plugins.

Many file types — including images, audio, video, and PDFs — can be embedded directly into your notes.

On Desktop, drag and drop a supported file into a note to embed it automatically.
On Mobile, use the attachment options to insert or link a file.
